Car's 5 Fashion Must-Haves for the Summer

In the movie Field of Dreams they said, “If you build it, they will come.” Well, I share the same theory for Summer time weather, “If you wear it, it will come.” Everybody calls me crazy but as long as the temperature outside is 72o or higher you will find me in my summer threads. Now, I live in Texas so by the time it is technically the summer I’ll have worn all my cute dressy clothes, and my main focus will be staying cool and comfortable.  With that being said here are my Top 5 Fashion Must-Haves for the summer:

1.     Sunglasses- I cannot live without sunglasses during the summertime (or anytime the sun is out), I wear contacts so the sunlight dries my eyes out. But, for you non-visually impaired ladies out there sunglasses are a great way to accessorize any outfit. Me personally I own a few different sunglasses in several different shades and styles, I feel like your sunglasses should always match your outfit. A quick tip to ensure that you never leave home without at least one pair of sunglasses is leave them in your car’s console, that way as soon as you get in the car you can put them on, or keep a spare pair in your purse or backpack.

2.     Maxi Dress/Skirt- In Texas during the summertime a cool day is around 800 so it is very important to wear something cool and breezy. My go to outfit is a bright and colorful maxi dress in a light fabric or a maxi skirt paired with a tank top. If you can’t find a maxi skirt that you can’t live without or want to wear your favorite dress in a different way just roll/fold down any strapless maxi dress, pair it with a tank (tucked in) and a belt and you have a totally different look.

3.     Tank Top- I’m sure it comes as no surprise that tank tops are on my list since I have mentioned them paired with
my other must-haves. But, I must admit I love tank tops because they’re inexpensive and can be found just about anywhere in all sizes. And if you are a DIY’er like me a few strategically placed cuts or iron-on appliques and you can turn a $5.00 tank into a one of a kind creation.

4.     Leggings- The great thing about leggings are that they
are a year round essential, all you have to do is change your shirt and shoes and you are ready for any occasion.
During the summer time all I do is throw on a tank and sandals and I’m ready for just about any summer activity.
This summer I’m going to switch it up and go from solid leggings to print leggings and solid tops.

5.    Flip Flops- I saved the best for last, flip flops!!! If I could I would live life barefoot, however most places have some of the dirtiest and nastiest floors so since I have to wear shoes I always pick flip flops. Flip flops are my addiction meaning I will spend anywhere from $0.99 to $75.00 for a pair of flip flops, of course the $75.00 pair are considered my dress-up shoes and in Texas in the summer they’re allowed everywhere including church and weddings. I mean who wants to wear socks and closed toed shoes in the heat of the summer? Lastly, flip flops are an excellent reason to treat yourself or have someone to treat you to a pedicure or two.

Although it may not be summer or near summer temps where you are, I hope that my list of must-haves has inspired you to stock up on your very own summer must-haves. And please feel free to share with me what you consider to be your summer must-haves I love adding to my wardrobe.
